Prof. Zhi Zong, China

Prof. Zong received his PhD in 1995 from Hiroshima University, Japan in the field of shipbuilding engineering. He then joined Institute of High Performance Computation, Singapore as senior and principle research engineer working in the field of underwater explosion and computational mechanics. In 2004 he joined Dalian University of Technology, China as professor. He once acted as dean, School of Shipbuilding Engineering, and Vice Director, State Ley Lab for Structural Analysis of Industrial Equipment. He served editorial boards of 10 over international and local journals. He authored over 340 papers, 190 among which are indexed by SCI. He authored 7 monographs, 3 among which are published by Elsevier, CRC and Lambert Academic. Prof. Zong has been active in the research fields of fluid mechanics, computational mechanics and ocean engineering. He discovered splash resistance of trimaran ships, and new forms of solitary waves. He developed variable topological Boundary Element Method for simulating jet formed after bubble collapse, which is widely applied in underwater explosion. He also refined SPH and Discrete Vortex Method to obtain better simulations of water wave evolution, ship motions in waves, slamming, water-entry, vortex-induced-vibration. He received first and second prizes of Ministry of Education in Science and Technology, prizes from Ocean Engineering Consultation Association.
Prof. Chunyan Ji, Vice President, China
Jiangsu University of Science and Technology
Prof. Chunyan Ji is a Standing Committee Member and Vice President of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. He has long been engaged in the research of dynamic characteristic analysis and structural safety assessment of ships and marine engineering, with a solid research foundation and strong innovation ability. He has chaired more than 10 research projects at provincial and ministerial levels, such as the special project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the 13th Five-Year Plan of the Navy. The floating breakwater technology developed under the auspices of the research team has achieved more research results, filling the gap in the design technology of floating breakwaters and related wave dissipation mechanisms in China’s islands and reefs. His previous honors include the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award (ranked 1st), the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Education (ranked 2nd), the second prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award (ranked 5th), the third prize of Jiangsu Postgraduate Training Model Reform Achievement Award (ranked 1st), and the second prize of Jiangsu Teaching Achievement Award (ranked 2nd). He enjoys special allowances from the State Council; he has been included in several talent cultivation projects, including the fifth “333 Project” and the “Six Talent Summit” of Jiangsu Province. He was appointed the head of the Qing Lan Project Innovation Team. He is the March 8th Red Banner Pacesetter of Jiangsu Province. He is a recipient People’s Medal of Zhenjiang City; he also won the title of “Ten Outstanding Youth of Zhenjiang City”. In addition, he is a member of the International Ship and Offshore Structures Conference (ISSC) Committee and the Vice Chairman of the Ship Mechanics Committee and has a strong academic influence at home and abroad.

Zhan Wang, researcher, deputy director of the Academic Committee in the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and deputy director of the Key Laboratory for Mechanics in Fluid Solid Coupling Systems Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2012. He has been a researcher in the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2016, and a professor in the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2017. His main research field is water wave dynamics, geophysical fluid mechanics, fluid structure coupling and electromagnetic fluid dynamics. In recent years, he has undertaken many national key scientific research projects, such as the Youth Cross Team Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the key research and development project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the China-UK Cooperation and Exchange Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Minqing Wang, male, postdoctoral, professor, doctoral supervisor. Minqing Wang is currently a Professor from Northwestern Polytechnical University. His main research fields are structural acoustic design theory and method, micro electro-mechanical engineering and automation, and automatic measurement and control technology.
